The Thing

Hey, so today I wanted to talk about... that... erm.. thingy. You know that thing? Yeah, that thingy-ma-bob. Oh you know, the thingity thing.
Can't remember? No comprendo? Well that's exactly what I wanted to talk about. When you can't think of a word (because your brain decides to give up on life for a minor split second), you replace the word with "thing". Or "thingy".Or "thingy-ma-bobity-boo". Okay, maybe not that last one, but hey, the brain can make up some some funny words when it gives up.
Yeah, we've all been there, in the middle of describing something, then when it comes to the important part of the sentence your brain shuts down and you start to replace every other word with "thingy thing".

i.e. "Were did you put my, er.. thing?"
"What thing?"
"My thingy for my thing" *Points at feet*

Worst of all, you also expect that person to know EXACTLY what you're talking about! As if they're a mind reader or something. I mean, it's not as if they going to reply "Oh yeah, your thingy thing! It's in your room" (Well, I guess they could reply something like "you mean your shoes?", but generally people aren't that smart). We even start trying to draw the shape of the object in mid air with our fingers (We basically play charades!). And sometimes (if your of the female gender) we get annoyed that the other person doesn't know what we're talking about! "OH YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, C'MON"

But it's not just you who does it. Nooo. It's everybody. Remember that time when your friend was telling you about that thing and they got all angry and looked at you all funny because you hadn't a clue what they were going on about? It was like they were speaking a foreign language wasn't it? Well, that's what it feels like to others when you talk about those, things. Annoying ain't it? SO next time you think to yourself, "this persons so stupid, they don't even know what they're talking about", think again, because that makes you stupid too. BOOM!

Catch you later!
