So, you know those (ugly) Christmas jumpers everybody's going round wearing? When did they become so popular? I used to love jumpers with a Christmassy element on them, but now, they're so mainstream! And uglier than ever!! Christmas jumpers for me were just snowflakey or Christmastree-y or snowy. They never used to have a big picture of Rudolph on them with a light up nose and a battery you CAN'T REPLACE.
The first time I saw them was last year in Primark, and everybody went crazy about them. Everywhere I looked, there were (ugly) Christmas Jumpers!Call me a humbug or whatever you like, but these things are in fashion and I can't understand why. Why would anybody buy a jumper you can only really wear once a year? At least with a simple, basic jumper with a snow design you can wear whenever you want, as it symbolises the cold weather (which is the main reason why you wear a jumper in the first place, right?!). Maybe I'm just not with fashion nowadays, but you won't be catching me wearing a light up jumper anytime soon.
Now I understand kids going around wearing Rudolph or Santa Clause jumper that lights up, because after a year, they're going to either forget about them or grow out/old for it. But you can only find these jumpers in the adult section. WHY WOULD ANY ADULT WANT TO SERIOUSLY WEAR THESE JUMPERS?! Y'know, unless it was a joke present or whatever...
That's another thing about Christmas: Presents and Wrapping. Have you ever thought that when you buy some wrapping paper for your presents that you're going to
1) Wrap the present (and possibly waste some paper in the process if you're not the best of wrappers).
2) Have that wrapping paper ripped off the present you've just neatly (or not neatly) wrapped (wow that's a wot of words).
3) Have the remains of the paper thrown away (recycled, hopefully!).
So this basically means you're throwing your money in the bin! At least with gift bags you can re-use them a few more times. And they also look better than if some people were to wrap the present! - And I don't mean me at this, because my family get me to wrap their presents for everybody in the house. Except my own.
Let me know if I'm just being picky on these aspects of Christmas, or if you totally agree with me!
