Now, as somebody who travels to and from Spain often, I think you can say I travel a lot. I used to LOVE the travelling part of a journey (yep, I loved those long hours of waiting to get to the destination, just the feeling of doing nothing for 4-6 hours was just, ahh! - Apparently). But now, it takes so long to get to a place! I mean, if you go to London by car, it's about 5 hours, Spain by plane it takes just over 2 hours - but people forget about the travelling to the airport, the check-ins, the sit-and-wait-fourty-years-for-your-flight-to-finally-be-ready-for-you-to-board, and the travelling from the airport on the other side. That's practically a half a day's worth of travelling! You've wasted half a day of travelling!
I've also traveled by coach to some places. Yep, places like Poland, from Berlin. NINE BLEEDING HOURS. I sat on that coach for nine whole hours, surrounded by people I'd only known for 5 months (it was a school trip). I only really knew two of them! The coach stopped once throughout the whole journey as we all got hungry. But there was one problem for me. The only restaurant there was KFC - I don't like KFC. Ice cream for dinner!
I must say though, I do remember a time I did thoroughly enjoy travelling, and that was when we traveled to London, via train. But not just any train, First Class [Smug Emoji].
Yeah! My dad and I went to London for a weekend just before Christmas. I couldn't believe the food was free and everything! (I was about 8 OKAY!). My dad got a really good deal for the tickets. Never been First Class since. What? It's not everyday you have £1000 for one way tickets. Now I just travel EasyJet, which leads us on to my next point.
Now for the past 3 years (Well, seeing as we're 2015 now, I guess 4 years?), I have been going to and from Spain. A lot. Hashtag Musician Problems? Anyway, since 2011, I've traveled to Spain 10 times, and 6 of those times have been with EasyJet. The other four times have been with Ryanair and Thomsons. I'm not saying these other two are bad, it's just Thomsons no longer fly from Liverpool (we had to go all the way from Manchester to get the flights), and Ryanair have a weight limit on the hand luggage (EasyJet is unlimited). But the biggest bonus point with EasyJet is that they are extremely musician friendly.
What do I mean by "musician friendly"? Well they're friends with all of us musicians, duh.
Haha, no, basically they allow musical instruments as hand luggage as long as it goes inside thier rules and regulations of musical instruments. Pretty straight forward, eh? I always take my synth as hand luggage and my piano as hold luggage. It's simple and easy, and I don't even work for EasyJet! The only flaw I can find with this system though is that the staff don't usually believe that it's allowed as hand baggage, and so each time I have to print out the rules and regs. But other than that, EasyJet all the way!
But I still hate the traveling. One day we will have to develop transportation power to make things easier. If Doctor Who can do it, surely we can.
Catch you later!
