For kids, 10 minutes can seem like a lifetime to wait, i.e; when your parents say "I'll be there in 10 minutes", after you call them to pick you up when you've finished your after school club, except it actually feels like forever. I mean come on, you're standing in the freezing cold English Winter, waiting hours on end for them to finally rescue you after your long day at school (totally not over exaggerating). I would know, because I was a kid once (still am - I'm waiting for the "one day, you'll be a responsible adult" part I used to get told by everyone to kick in (PLUS I'M ONLY 18, GEEZ)). But with my 18 years of being alive on Gallifrey Planet Earth, time has sped up over the years; days are shorter, nights come by quicker and 5am is here in no time (I remember when I hadn't even seen the other side of midnight!).

Me being, well, me... Boracay, Philippines (2007) |
WRONG!
No, you're right. But the point still stands! I even talk about years sometimes. One minute I'm saying how something happened last year, then BAM! (the dirt is gone) That was three years ago. I mean, I remember trying to decide on which subjects to take for my GCSE's, and that was five years ago. OMG... I didn't realise just how long ago that was until I typed it. WOW. That means I left Primary School SEVEN years ago. Wait... WHAAAAAAtttt-?!!!! -Feeling Old-
See what I mean? I'm not going crazy am I? Please tell me if I am. I dunno, it just seems that the older you get, the quicker the days, months and years pass by. Then Christmas is here all over again, with your bank account screaming "Help me!". When I was younger, I thought how slow each year goes, constantly wishing for Christmas and my Birthday to come along (as they're a month apart). Now, I still constantly wish for it to be Christmas, but it comes around much quicker than it used to (See! Wishing does get you somewhere!).
No seriously though, -Serious Face- what is it we are doing when we're apparently "wasting time"? We spend all of our time wishing and hoping for things which are generally way out of our reach. But HELLO! Time is running away, and you have to keep up with it, otherwise it'll run out. Whether it be 2 days or 4 years, time always runs out.
What? You don't believe me? Well, here's things to make you feel old (Yay! Another list!):
- 'Songs About Jane' by Maroon 5 came out 12 years ago (2002).Yeah, you remember that song 'She Will Be Loved'? That was on that album. The song mentions "Beauty Queen at only Eighteen", I remember thinking "Pfft! 18 is miles away!". And here I am. 18. (This was meant for you to feel old, not me! I've already done that a few paragraphs back).
- When you say "10 years ago", you realise you mean 2004?
Yes, 10 years ago is no longer in the 90's! Two Thousand and Four. - 'The Lion King', 'Aladdin' and 'The Little Mermaid' were released in the 80's and 90's.
That's before I was born! 'The Lion King' (1994), 'Aladdin' (1992) and 'The Little Mermaid' (1989).
Feeling old now? Good. Because I am. So surely it should be a no-brainer of what to do now, shouldn't it? Hang out with friends and family more and enjoy more of the little things in life? Of course! It's not rocket science, it's child's play. Will it happen? Nope - because that sentence was too cliché. I'm not one for following 'society's template of a perfect life'. I'm not saying I'm not going to change my ways, because I already have (hello, I'm in SPAIN!!! ♪Because I'm Happy♪). I was just trying to make you, the reader, realise it too. Hey, you know what I've just realised? This blog entry is really long. Sorry guys, I waffled on too much...
Do you think I'm crazy? Or do you agree?
Sorry for, eh, "chatterboxing" and 'brain dumping' in this entry!
Catch you later!
