The Killers - Human: My Questions for You!

So, you know that song 'Human' by The Killers? Of course you do, everybody does. "Are we human? Or are we Scoucers?"- I mean "Or are we dancer?". Yeah, that one. I have some questions for you:

1. Poetic License?

"Are we human? Or are we dancer?" - Now, does this really make sense? Really?!
Surely if you replaced the word "dancer" with "denser", it would make more sense, right? As there are many definitions of the word 'dense', it could mean a number of things; too crowded/compact, more intense/extreme or stupid/dull (personally, I would go for the last option). And FYI, I Google'd the word 'dense' to get the these definitions, and put the last point into an example;

"The person who decided on 'dancer' was clearly denser than the rest of the band..."

- Lesley-Anne Goode, 2014

I know, how about we just bring this debate to a close and change the word to Scoucer. It goes better, plus if you don't like it, I have the whole of Liverpool behind me on this one. MOVING ON!

2. D/F# or F#dim?
Now, I understand that non-musicians will not understand this question, however, I would like to resolve it.

In the bridge, where it goes;

Will your (Eb) system be alright (F)
When you (?) dream of home tonight (G)

WHAT IS THAT (?) CHORD?? On the piano, I worked it as D major in 2nd inversion with an F# bass note, but a friend of mine said it would make more sense if it was F# Diminished (which could be right- I'm not disagreeing). However, another friend also said it sounded 'more right' as a D major in 1st inversion with an F# bass note... As I am not great at the technical side of music, I have no idea which would be the 'most right' one to go with, so what do you think?

Catch you later!
